Penmaenuchaf Goes for Gold
The hotel is delighted to have gained a Gold Award from Visit Wales and takes pride in the fact that the hotel is in the top 2% of all Visit Wales graded accommodation. The award list consists of 12 Hotels (of which we are one) and 25 other guest accommodations. The businesses were not able to apply to be on the list and all businesses graded by Visit Wales were considered. Those who achieved a sufficiently high quality score at their most recent grading assessment were selected for a mystery shopper testing - we obviously passed the mystery shopper test with flying colours! www.visitwales.co.uk

Ring in the Changes
Our grand oak panelled drawing room is now complete for our guests to enjoy. This stylish room has a truly romantic, warm and convivial ambience. Fall into the comfy leather sofas in front of the stone arched fireplaces and enjoy those stunning mountian views. Or perhaps be entertained on the fine grand piano whilst sipping an aperatif and musing over the dinner menu and wine list. Then... step into our recently opened garden room restaurant, Llygad yr haul, it has a contemporary feel, with a stunning Welsh slate floor, oak panelling, gothin windows and yet again, those wonderful views. We are sure you will be delighted with the changes.

Bring in the New
We are delighted to introduce two of our recently extended and refurbished rooms. The Watson Fielding room with its huge new picture window complete with window seat and views across the Mawddach estuary to the Rhinog mountains. This is undoubtedly the largest room in the house with a king size bed, spacious lounge area and roomy bathroom. The Reynolds Williams room has the addition of French doors leading on to a large balcony again with wonderful views across the Estuary to the mountains in the background. We are positive our guests will enjoy these new deluxe bedrooms.

Big Fish in Penmaenuchaf Lake
The spectacular new arrival at Penmaenuchaf, the hotel lake, has been made even more spectacular in the form of an enlargement. Yes, we have made it even bigger with plans to introduce rainbow and brown trout for the new season.

Llyn Penmaenuchaf will be a joy to fish, set in outstanding scenery and regulary stocked with high quality brown and rainbow trout - exhaust yourself - fish our lake during the day and then move on to our locval rivers at night - when will you find time to eat our delicious cuisine and sleep in our comfy beds?!! AA Notable Wine List Certificate
The hotel wine list has recently received an accolade from the AA. Our wine list reached the final round of the AA Wine Award selected from over one thousand wine lists based on the overall quality of its wine selection and presentation. Our Notable Wine List certificate will be prominently displayed and our entry in the Restaurant Guide will also feature a "Notable Wine List Symbol". We, particularly Mark, are all delighted.

Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel Wine Club
Our present range of wines by the case consists of "The South African Tour Revisited". Some great wines from our 2006 visit. The Spanish Collection is a mixed case from various regions of this excellent wine producing country. We also have a new case of Australian and New Zealand Wines from some of the top producers of these countries. Coming soon is a case of wonderful Italian wines. And how ... Yet another hugely successful Cape Argus Pick'n'Pay cycle ride in South Africa. Conditions couldn't have been better, no wind, no rain and a little cloud cover to stop the intense sun from scorching down on us, the Gods were certainly looking after us all.

Of the 37,000 entrants only 28,726 completed the course in the seven-hour time limit. No major accidents this year and no fatalities, only one pile up involving 20 cyclists, which appropriately happened on Hospital Hill, and several other minor incidents along the way.
